Metin Akdülger shared the following message to announce his departure:

Why Did Metin Akdülger (Atilla) Leave “Sandık Kokusu”?

Rumors suggest that Akdülger’s departure stemmed from tensions with fellow cast members on set.

The primary cause appears to be Akdülger’s dissatisfaction with the script. Allegedly, he would often say, “Atilla wouldn’t do this,” leading him to change his lines. It’s said that Uğur Yücel, who played Atilla’s father Hasan, responded to Akdülger’s improvisations by quipping, “Hasan wouldn’t do this either,” which reportedly led to on-set friction.
