“Gaddar,” one of the TV series that has caused disappointment in Turkey according to its cast, ended with its 20th episode on Friday, June 7, 2024.
“Gaddar” premiered on January 19, 2024, on NOW TV. The leading role played by Çağatay Ulusoy had initially raised high expectations among viewers. However, the outcome was quite the opposite, hence it is described as a disappointment.
Competing on Fridays against other popular shows such as Kızılcık Şerbeti, Yalı Çapkını, Arka Sokaklar, and Kara Ağaç Destanı, Gaddar consistently ranked behind the first three in the ratings, with only Kara Ağaç Destanı faring worse.
Why Did “Gaddar” End?
As mentioned above, the primary reason for the show’s conclusion was its poor ratings.
“According to some sources, unexpected changes in the storyline and the failure to capture the audience’s interest also contributed to the decision to end the series.”
Another reason cited was that some actors, including Çağatay Ulusoy’s partner, underperformed and negatively affected the series.
Ultimately, “Gaddar” was not well-received by the Turkish audience and was canceled.
