Turkish Drama Leyla Canceled After Failing to Attract Viewers Despite Major Cast Changes
Despite moving to Sunday nights and introducing veteran actor Selçuk Yöntem, the Turkish series Leyla will end with Episode 40 after struggling to meet ratings expectations on NOW TV.
The Turkish drama Leyla: Life… Love… Justice…, produced by Ay Yapım for NOW TV, is officially coming to an end. Although it continued airing well into late June without a season finale or cancellation announcement, the final decision has now been made.

Originally airing on Wednesday nights, Leyla was recently moved to Sunday evenings in a last-ditch effort to boost ratings. Along with the schedule change, the show introduced a major shake-up in its cast—most notably, the addition of veteran actor Selçuk Yöntem, whose character brought a new storyline involving his family after a one-year time jump.

The hope was that this new direction might breathe life into the struggling series and pave the way for a second season. Unfortunately, even with these changes, Leyla failed to generate the desired viewership numbers.
NOW TV has confirmed that Leyla will conclude with its 40th episode, marking the official end of the series.
