We are in a season where Turkish series are being cancelled one by one. Recently, more than half of the series introduced have failed and have been cancelled before reaching the first 5 episodes. In fact, as I was writing this, I learned that the Turkish series ‘Yaban Çiçekleri’ (Wild Flowers) has also been cancelled. It will conclude with its 3rd episode today.
Returning to the ‘Gaddar’ series, it actually premiered with high expectations. With Çağatay Ulusoy in the lead role, it was thought that ‘this series will definitely be a hit’, but unfortunately, it didn’t succeed.
Although the series is currently on air, viewers haven’t shown as much interest as expected.
‘Gaddar’ series airs on Fridays and competes with series like ‘Kızılcık Şerbeti’, ‘Yalı Çapkını’, and ‘Ateş Kuşları’ on the same day. Especially ‘Kızılcık Şerbeti’ is one of the series holding the record for Friday ratings. Surprisingly, ‘Yalı Çapkını’ also ranks high in the ratings list.
‘Gaddar’ series is being watched and is in the top 10 of the ratings list, but it still leaves the impression of a series that couldn’t meet expectations. Therefore, ‘Gaddar’ series may not be aired in its 2nd season. It may bid farewell to the screens with a final in the 1st season, which would be the best for itself.”
